Work Hard, Trust God

Almost a year ago I was shoved into the world of being self-employed. It has been the scariest yet most rewarding season of my life, and I’m just getting started.

Some of the best advice given to me in those crucial first few months has become a rallying cry for me “whenever I feel I’m beginning to lose my edge.” I repeat it to myself daily, where it on a t-shirt, hang it on my wall, and preach it to my kids:

Work hard. Trust God.

The only thing I can control is what effort I put into today. I cannot control or manipulate the results no matter how hard I try. The results are not up to me, I believe. I believe the results are in God’s hands. That is where my faith kicks in. I work as hard as I can and trust God with the rest. In this first year of this nerve-racking adventure, it has proven true time and time again.

…when I feel I don’t have what it takes to be successful.

…when I doubt my place in this world.

…when I can’t see the future plan.

…when the haters come my way.

…when it takes longer than I expected.

…when it seems that nothing is panning out.

Work hard. Trust God.

It gets me focused every time.

Try it and see if it works for you.

BONUS: I have small prints and a t-shirt with this slogan on it you can purchase them in my online store here.
